Why is acne so prevalent (and difficult to control)? Because it's caused by a combination of factors that vary not only by individual, but often by occurrence.
Though all pimples start the same way, they can take many forms and may react differently for different people. Most acne treatment methods assume that all acne is the same, so that someone with small, random, irregular outbreaks is treated with the same methods as a person with ongoing, cystic, painful acne.
Available exclusively at Reveal™, the ClearScience™ Acne Clearing Program takes a customized approach to treatment, one that takes into account both the severity of your acne and what you have tried in the past to treat it. Each program combines an exfoliating treatment (such as the Reveal™ Peel or MicrodermUltra™) with the Isolaz™ Deep Pore Lazr Therapy, the only light-based pore-purification therapy approved by the FDA for treating acne. Also included is an at-home regimen designed to complement and enhance the medical services on a daily basis.
How it works:
The exfoliating treatment (Reveal™ Peel or MicrodermUltra™) helps clear pores by sloughing off dead surface skin, which contributes to clogged pores. These treatments promote cellular turnover, minimize the oil production and help fade existing acne discoloration.
Pore purification is a breakthrough process in which pores are cleared and tightened by the combination of gentle suction and light therapy. The vacuuming effect clears dirt, oil and bacteria out of the pores. This allows the antibacterial light, the second step, to penetrate deep into the follicles to kill any remaining bacteria (the P. Acnes bacteria produces a substance called porphyrins, which strongly absorb this light and heat the bacteria to a level that destroys it). This helps to speed healing time. Once the follicle is clear of debris, oxygen can better reach the bottom of the follicle. As the P. Acnes bacteria is anaerobic (it cannot live in the presence of oxygen), this improved delivery of oxygen to deeper levels of the follicular structure helps to ward off future breakouts.
